TERRELL RIFLE & PISTOL CLUB PRESENTS
2023 Spring Team Handicap Skeet League, Members preferred
It’s time again for the Spring Team Handicap Skeet League. For any shooters new to this league, a team consists of 5 shooters (members preferred). We have room for twelve teams. The teams from last spring will have first go for a spot. If you want to ensure your team has a spot you need to email me and let me know who’s on your team. We will place individuals the best we can if there is room. The league lasts 11 weeks, every Wednesday night weather permitting. Each team will shoot against every other team. Shooting starts at 6:30pm (two teams compete against each other for points; one point for each round and a 3rd point for the total of two rounds. One person from each team scores for the opposing team. The second rotation should start at 8:00pm. All league shooting needs to be done before 10PM. Teams will be assigned fields and time slots each week. The skeet league software handles this so all teams will shoot on all three fields at different time slots each week. At least 3 members of a team must be present to compete. If less than 3 shooters are present, that team will forfeit all three points. If a team is short a shooter, the opposing team gets to drop their lowest shooter scores (the software does this). Each shooter establishes a handicap the first night which gets adjusted each week. The skeet league software was modified to handle 13 teams, if we have to go to 13 teams that will change everything (cost and schedule) so let’s see if we can get 12 teams first. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams are awarded at the end of the league. High individual (HOA), most straights, and High Lady receives money (if eligible). High Junior receives accolades. If the HOA also have most straights they can only receive one award. Ties divide. No pre-shoots and as always no make ups. If a person has to miss a night, their first week scores will be used. More than two absences and the person will receive no score for those nights. This has worked well the past few years. STARTS MARCH 15, 2023, every Wednesday till completion weather permitting. Assumes the 5-stand league finishes before the skeet league start date. Request the Team Captains take responsibility for the following: A. Promote safety and good sportsmanship. (Eye and Ear protection required) B. The conduct of individual team members while shooting. C. Assure your team members are in attendance and ready to shoot as scheduled. D. Score, Verify, and Sign the opposing teams score sheet. E. Provide team member to referee and score for the opposing team. F. Pick up spent hulls and refill the skeet machines after you have completed shooting. G. Assure your score sheets are given to the League Scorekeeper at the end of each night’s shooting. H. First night - Collect $115 League fees from each of your team members and deliver the money to Match Directors (John Delaloye or David Blakemore). Juniors can shoot for targets only ($88), but won’t be eligible to win prize money. That’s $575 per team. Be safe and have fun. There will be food on the last night of the skeet league.
